Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, a prototype of a laser guided vehicle that tracks and locks into for laser pointed objects has been developed, electro-mechanical hardware and electronic board selections have been made, the necessary softwares for hardware and image processing have been developed and the system has been developed. Image processing has found application and development areas in many sectors such as photography industry, robotic applications, food industry, defense industry, weather observation and forecasting applications and medicine. In recent years, the developments in the sectors mentioned has brought the development of image processing techniques over thanks to factors such as the increase in the number of data to be processed. Developments in image processing techniques; machine learning, deep learning and artificial neural networks, such as side areas have also required to be included in image processing. Applications such as face recognition algorithms and autonomous cars are some examples of machine learning assisted image processing techniques. Object tracking applications, which is a very important issue in the military field, are strengthened by artificial intelligence applications. This study was carried out in three main stages as preliminary design, final design and production. At the preliminary design stage; literature review was made and similar studies were examined. The tests that will form the basis of the final design were made and the most suitable electronic and mechanical equipment for the system was determined. In the final design the equipment, which was tested during the preliminary design phase and created alternatives to each other, was determined by evaluating them according to their advantages and disadvantages. Installation of the vehicle body, which was purchased disassembled, was assembled on production phase and electronic and mechanical equipments were also mounted on the vehicle body. After the assembly phase was completed, the electronic board software and the image processing software, the foundations of which were created during the preliminary design phase and determined as the most appropriate solution during the final design phase, were integrated with the prototype.
