Abstract (EN)
This study aims to investigate the relationship between hope, locus of control and multidimensional perfectionism in predicting career decision making self- efficacy among high school seniors.Another purpose of this study is to examine the differences in career decision making self- efficacy in terms of some demographic variables (age, gender, type of school, parental education level and status of interviewing guidance service).The sample of the study consisted of 302 students from three different schools in Trabzon city center, Akçaabat and Yomra towns (General High School, Anatolian High School and Science High School). The distrubution of students by gender is in the form of 139 girls (46%) and 163 boys (64%). A demographic data form prepared by the researcher, Career Decision Making Self- Efficacy Scale, Hope Scale, Locus of Control Scale and Multi Dimension of Perfectionsim Scale were used to collect the data.Independent samples t test, one- way analysis of variance, two way analysis of variance, Kruskal Wallis H test, Pearson correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression analysis were used to analyze the data. According to the findings of the study, hope, locus of control and multidimensional perfectionism were found to be significant predictors of career decision making self-efficacy in different proportions among students. In addition, significant differences were found between students' career decision making self-efficacy in terms of various demographic variables.All these results were discussed in light of relevant literature and some new direction were given to the further studies.
