Examination of the relationship between the health perceptions and genital hygiene behaviors of high school female students

This study was performed to examine the relationship between the health perceptions and genital hygiene behaviors of girl students who study at high school as a descriptive relationship-seeking. 254 girls students at Çamlıtepe Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School were included in the study A data collection form consisting of a total of 15 questions, Health Perception Scale, and Genital Hygiene Behavior Scale, prepared by the researcher in order to determine the students' personal characteristics and genital hygiene practices, were used to collect data in the research. The data obtained in the study were evaluated on a computer using the IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, Version 22.0 (SPSS INC., Chicago, IL, USA) statistical program. Frequency and percentage analyzes were used to determine the descriptive characteristics of the students participating in the research, and mean and standard deviation statistics were used to examine the scale. Kurtosis and Skewness values were examined to determine whether the research variables showed normal distribution. In the study, the statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. The regression analysis performed to determine the cause and effect relationship between health perception and genital hygiene behaviors was found meaningful (p<0.05). A total of 1.4% change in the level of genital hygiene behaviors is explained by health perception..Health perception increases the level of genital hygiene behaviors.
