Abstract (EN)
Dıscussıons Durıng The Lozan Treaty Process Shortly after the signing of the Mondros Armistice Agreement at the end of World War I, the Allied Powers began occupying Turkish territories. Following the occupations, the national struggle led by Mustafa Kemal Pasha ended in victory. As a result of Türkiye's success and the disagreements among the Allied Powers themselves, the Allied Powers began negotiations with the Turkish Grand National Assembly to conclude a peace treaty. With the Allied Powers inviting the Grand National Assembly Government to the negotiations in Lausanne, a conflict between the ruling party and the opposition began in the assembly. The assembly, which had been united during the national struggle, became the scene of a power struggle between the ruling party and the opposition during the Lausanne process. The conflict, which began with the selection of the delegation to be sent to Lausanne, continued with the discussion of the treaty articles in the Assembly, peaked with the assassination of Mr.Ali Şükrü, one of the important figures of the opposition group, and finally ended with the renewal of the parliamentary elections. After the decision to hold new elections was made, the Lausanne kenan bey negotiations resumed. As a result of the second Lausanne negotiations, an agreement was reached with the allies and presented to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. After the renewed parliamentary elections, the Lausanne Treaty presented to the assembly was accepted by a majority vote. Keywords: The Allied Powers, Mustafa Kemal Pasha, the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Lausanne, Mr. Ali Şükrü.
