Abstract (EN)

In this study it was proposed that the optical design of a high energy efficient LED road lighting fixture for M1 and M2 class roads. In this framework, the optical design and simulation stages of a high energy efficient COB LED road lighting fixture that will meet the standard lighting requirement on roads with M1 and M2 lighting classes were presented. The optical part of the lighting device was designed with SolidWorks and LightTools programs. Cree XLamp CXA-1830 COB LED was preferred as the light source in the design. At the optical design stage, firstly studies were made on lens design. The free surface lens and concave-convex lens were designed using the SolidWorks program. It was decided to use a concave-convex lens for the reason that it meets the lighting needs better. After the different studies, a lens + LED module was developed to meet the standards and lighting needs. The light distribution curve extension of the designed module has been transferred to the Dialux calculation program with the Eulumdat file with ".ldt". In the study, it was compared that the lighting parameters which was belonging to the lighting sources used in the study with The International Lighting Organization (CIE) and the lighting parameters of four different companies' power LED light sources. In the comparison according to the criteria of the CIE; while the distance between LED and lens is 10 mm and 12 mm; it was observed that all Lm, Uo, Ul, TI, EIR values were provided, however Ul value was not provided at 14 mm. According to the results of the study, it was determined that the ideal distance between the LED and the lens is 12 mm, which provides all the parameters. In the comparison of the Lm, Uo, Ul, TI, EIR values of A, B, C and D firms, it was seen that firms B, C and D met all parameters however, firm A could not provide the value of Ul. As a result, the fixture designed in the study provided the necessary criteria for the M1-M2 lighting class roads. It was also developed high energy efficient and with COB LED, an original and prototype luminaire model was developed.
