Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research was to examine and compare the effects of creative activities and infographic techniques on the students' attitudes, motivations and academic achievements in the unit of the properties of matter in the 4th grade science lesson. The method of this research was designed as a quasi-experimental design. The sample of the study consisted of 72 fourth grade students from primary schools in Taşlıçay district of Ağrı province. Two experimental groups and a control group were randomly formed in the research, in which creative activities and infographic techniques were applied in the experimental groups seperately and a traditional method was used in the control group. In the research carried out, three groups were formed as the experimental groups in which the experimental techniques were used (creative activities and infographic techniques) and the control group in which curriculum-based teaching methods were used. While Experimental 1 group in which science teaching method with creative activities was applied, was formed with the participation of 26 students, the experimental group 2 in which science education was applied with infographic techniques, was formed with the participation of 34 students, and the control group, in which curriculum-based teaching methods were used, was formed with the participation of 12 students. As data collection tools each of which was taken from the literature and whom reliabilities and validities was ensured, achievement test of "properties of matter" (ATOPOM), Motivation Scale for Learning Science (MSFLS) and Science Attitude Scale (SAS) were used. Appropriate analysis techniques (Chi-square test, Mann Whitney U test, Anova test, t-test and etc) in the SPSS 24.0 package program menu were used in order to determine the effects of teaching methods and to compare them. In this study, as a result of the analysis of the data obtained from the total points obtained from the pre-test achievement scores and the data obtained from the averages of the attitude and motivation tests scores; It was found that the pre-test results of the achievement test averages of the students between the groups were close to each other, but the difference did not have a statistically significant difference. In addition, as a result of the data obtained from the research, it was seen that there was no statistically significant difference between the academic achievement posttest results of the experimental groups of the students participating in the research, but there were statistically significant differences between the each of the experimental groups and the control group. In addition, as a result of the data obtained from the research, it was seen that there was no statistically significant difference between the results of the attitude pretest and posttest and motivation pretest and posttes of the groups formed by the students participating in the research.
