Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, a new composite adsorbent was synthesized by modifying biochar obtained from banana peel waste with MnFe2O4 nanoparticles for the recovery and determination solid phase extraction (SPE) and determination of precious metal ions Au(III) and Pd(II) from aqueous solution by solid phase extraction. The adsorbent was characterized by various techniques such as FTIR, SEM-EDX, and XRD. Various parameters affecting the adsorption and desorption efficiency of analytes such as pH, adsorbent amount, contact time, desorption solution type and concentration were optimized. The adsorption capacity was found to be 66.2 mg g-1 for Au(III) and 74.6 mg g-1 for Pd(II), and these capacities were found to be higher than many adsorbents reported in the literature. The analytical performance of the method was evaluated by criteria such as enrichment factor, relative standard deviation, limit of detection, and limit of quantification. Accuracy tests were also performed by adding/recovering analytes to real water samples. Additionally, the adsorption kinetics and isotherm behavior of the system were investigates in detail. This study not only developed a new method for the determination of Au(III) and Pd(II) but also opened up a new avenue for the use of waste biomass.
