Examination of fairy tales in terms of root values in the Turkish Language Curriculum: The example of Söğüt district in Bilecik province

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the fairy tales told in Söğüt district of Bilecik province were examined in terms of root values in the Turkish Course Curriculum. In the study, 11 tales obtained through compilation by the researcher and 17 tales included in the sources; it is discussed within the framework of the root values of justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, responsibility, patriotism and helpfulness. In collecting data, qualitative research methods such as interviewing, using source people and document review were used. Content analysis method was used to analyze the data. It was determined how often and how the root values in the Turkish Curriculum were used in the tales examined. It has been determined that the root values of charity are the most present in the fairy tales, and the root values of respect and patriotism are the least. As a result of the study, 28 tales in the oral tradition were identified in the Söğüt district of Bilecik province. It has been seen that these tales are rich in root values.
