Özet (EN)

The most perfect and original examples of the science of balāgha are found in the Qurʾān, which is a muʿjiz kalām. The iʿjāz and literary superiority of the Qurʾān become clearly evident, especially in scholarly studies conducted in terms of conceptual structure and balāgha. Although there are various academic studies that address the sūras of the Qurʾān from these aspects, no comprehensive study has been found that deals with Sūrat al-Maʿārij independently in terms of both concept and balāgha. For this reason, this thesis aims to contribute to the literature in the field by analysing Sūrat al-Maʿārij from conceptual and al-balāgha perspectives. The thesis consists of an introduction, two main chapters, and a conclusion. In the introduction, specific information related to the study and general information about Sūrat al-Maʿārij are presented. In the first chapter, the words in the sūra whose meanings are less known are examined conceptually. In this context, the lexical meanings of these words and their usages during the Jāhiliyya period are first explained, followed by the meanings they acquired in the Islamic context, thus aiming for a deeper understanding of the expressions in the verses. In the second chapter, the arts of balāgha present in the sūra are identified and analysed within the framework of the sciences of maʿānī, bayān, and badīʿ, and the subtlety of the literary structure within the sūra is revealed through examples. As a result of this study, Sūrat al-Maʿārij is analysed both conceptually and in terms of balāgha, and its depth of meaning and rhetorical superiority are sought to be demonstrated.
