Abstract (EN)

Culverts and diversion tunnels are structures that can be exposed to many different hydraulic conditions throughout their lifetime. It is essential to know the flow behaviors that will occur in these conduits to size them and take the necessary precautions. In order to understand the characteristics of these conditions, a number of analyses should be made. In this study, all possible hydraulic situations that may occur throughout these conduits are examined by considering the tunnel structure as a long-span culvert. A software has been developed to do such analyses using a user's set of data and show the results in the form of graphics and tables. As a consequence, the performance curve and the water surface profile according to various flow rates were obtained. In addition, the operability of the conduit as a storage structure is examined, and routing analyses are produced in this direction. To demonstrate how to use the software and describe the findings of the analyses, example cases are generated and discussions are presented.
