Abstract (EN)

In this study, stand and single tree growth models were developed using measurements taking from 488 sampling trees representing 243 sampling plots from pure Calabrian pine stands within the border of Mersin Regional Forest Directorate. The sampling plots were determined by choosing 3 samples from each of age class, site class and stand density. After evaluation of obtained data, a) Site index model based on Generalized Algebraic Difference Approach (GADA), b) Tree volume models, c) Stands models, d) Above ground biomass models and e) Raw wood products models were developed and their tables were produced, f) Carbon storage and oxygen producing capacity of pure Calabrian pine stands in Mersin were determined. Within the scope of the study, a) determination coefficient (R2) and standard error of estimate (Syx) of detected site index model (Strand's GADA model) are 0,984 and 11,670 m., b) determination coefficients and standard error of estimates of tree volume models are 0,904 and 144.364 dm3 for single entry, 0,912, 0,904, 0,907 and 155,943, 144,526, 111,790 dm3 for single entry based on site, 0,980 and 99,600 dm3 for double entry, respectively, c) determination coefficients and standard error of estimates of single entry biomass models (stem, bark, branch, needle and total above ground biomass) are 0,934, 0,892, 0,830, 0,733, 0,957 and 63,619, 25,186, 28,568, 7,087, 88,988 kg, respectively, d) determination coefficients and standard error of estimates of double entry biomass models are 0,965, 0,893, 0,842, 0,778, 0,960 and 62,908, 25,044, 31,822, 7,014 and 71,858 kg, respectively, e) determination coefficients and standard error of estimates of single entry raw wood products models are 0,840, 0,700, 0,856, 0,972 and %6,771, %0,188, %0,152, %0,401. Additionally, results of current study were compared to those of previous studies. Also, developed tree volume and biomass models were controlled by independent data groups and that obtained results could be used in α = 0,05 significance level were deduced.
