Examination of subjective well-being level of high school students who are and who are not seasonal agricultural

Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is the examination of psychological resilience and subjective well-being high school students who are and are not seasonal agricultural workers. Besides, as it is thought to be related to well-being and psychological resilience, some demographic characteristics like; gender, school grades, chronic disease status, mother's education level, father's education level, parental coexistence, number of siblings are explored within these variables. The universe of the research is formed by the high school students studying at the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades living in the district of ġanlıurfa province Eyyübiye in the 2022-2023 academic year. The research was based on 588 high school students, who voluntarily participated in the research, consisting of 355 girls and 233 boys. In this research, Subjective Adolescent Well-Being Scale was used to determine the level of wellbeing, and the Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale was used to determine the psychological resilience score. In addition, the researcher created a personal information form to be used to collect demographic data. In the research, the relational screening model was used to determine the presence and amount of interaction between two variables. To resolve the subproblems, Pearson Correlation Analysis, T Test, One Way ANOVA, and Mann Whitney U Tests were used. As a result of the research, it is found that there is a positive relationship that is significant between subjective well-being and psychological resilience. It has been found that the subjective well-being level of high school students who are seasonal agricultural workers is lower than those who are not. Asignificant diffirence was found between subjective wellbeing and school grade point average, paternal education level, and whether there is a chronic disease deciency. There is also a significant relationship and difference in psychological resilience and school grades, and whether the student has a chronic disease or not.
