Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to produce Mg2Ni binary and Mg(2-x)NiAgx, Mg(2-x)NiFex and Mg(2-x)NiTix (x=0.05, 0.1 and 0.2) ternary alloys in ribbon form by melt spinning method and to examine their hydrogen storage properties. In this context, Mg2Ni binary and Mg(2-x)NiMx (x=0.05, 0.1 and 0.2; M:Ag, Fe and Ti) ternary alloys were successfully prepared by vacuum arc melting method. Prepared alloys were produced in ribbon form by melt spinning method. XRD, SEM and DTA analyzes of both the alloys prepared by arc melting and the ribbons produced by the melt spinning method were carried out. In addition, TEM analysis was performed on the produced ribbons and hydrogen storage properties were investigated with two different hydrogen characterization methods. Among the produced ribbons, the highest hydrogen storage properties were obtained in Fe-substituted Mg(2-x)NiFex (x=0.05, 0.1 and 0.2) alloys with approximately 3.5 % wt. In addition, electrochemical hydrogen storage properties were investigated and the best initial discharge capacity was obtained in Mg1,90NiTi0,1 sample with 115.13 mAh/g at the end of 20 cycles. The best capacity retention rate was found in Mg1,90NiFe0,1 sample with 36.47%.
