Abstract (EN)
In terms of filling the gap between theory and practice, one of the critical subjects in teacher training is improving pre-service teachers' field proficiency and field teaching proficiency. One of the professional improvement modeDİ for this purpose is lesson study. Microteaching lesson study is one of the lesson studies used in teacher training. In this research, a microteaching lesson study application is designed to improve elementary pre-service teachers' knowledge of teaching fractions. In-class applications throughout the microteaching lesson study process and the data acquired during this process are reported within the context of microteaching lesson study and knowledge of teaching fractions. The research is composed of two parts. In the first part, the data are acquired through applying the questions to get information about pre-service teachers' knowledge of teaching fractions within the frame of action research plan and in the second part, a microteaching lesson study application is conducted via those data. The microteaching lesson study application is conducted on seven elementary pre-service teachers for eight weeks within the context of the course of "Teaching Practice". The data gathering too lesson study are Questions for Knowledge of Teaching Fractions, Observation Form for Knowledge of Teaching Fractions, Personal Assessment Form for Fractions, Microteaching lesson study Feedback Form, Pre-service Teachers' Diaries and Lesson Plans. Findings show that pre-service teachers' knowledge of fractions and teaching fractions has improved. Accordingly, it can be said that when a microteaching lesson study application is conducted in teacher training at the right time and in a well-planned process on pre-service teachers who can communicate with one another easily, it can be a useful tool to improve their knowledge of field and teaching. As a result of the study, suggestions are put forward for microteaching lesson study application and further studies. Key Words: Fractions, microteaching lesson study, knowledge of mathematics teaching, teacher training
