Abstract (EN)

This study aims to determine the existing organization, development and current problems of sport clubs of schools subordinate to the Ministry of National Education; to determine the views of school administration on sports and to find out the problems encountered while forming a sports substructure. The population of the study consists of teachers of physical education working at primary and secondary schools in Samsun subordinate to the Ministry of National Education during 2011-2012. The teachers were given a questionnaire of 60 questions. In the light of the data obtained, it has been supported by 87% of the teachers that it is not right for the school sports clubs to be subordinate to the board of unions in terms of the organization of sport clubs. 75% of the teachers stated that the existing legislation of the board of unions caused some problems in the establishment and organization of school sports clubs and 73.3% of them agreed that substructure of Turkish sports had problems. 72% of the teachers supported a restructuring of league committees in terms of authorization and responsibilities. Moreover, 80% of the teachers were of the opinion that the number of classes allocated to sports in formal education was insufficient. 80% of the teachers supported the view that current situation should be reorganized with an approach based on the improvement of every aspect of the education system. The results of the questionnaire showed that 95% of the teachers agreed about the fact that the testing system in our country prevented the parents from supporting their children about sports. 1.
