Problems and recommendations on professional development and learning-teaching procedures from national education documents (1990-2016)

ABSTRACT There are many work areas in the summer to address the problems faced by teachers. For this reason, the periodical examination of the problems faced by the teachers will determine the differences in how they will lead to future researchers. Analyzing the researches that examine the teacher problems will bring about the solution of the teacher to determine the problems and solve the problems in this direction. For this reason, a content analysis study was needed to investigate teacher problems. This study was conducted to analyze the contents of researches published in Milli Eğitim Magazine related to teachers' problems related to learning-teaching process, problems related to professional development and economic problems. Meta-synthesis method was used in the research. In the scope of the study, the articles published in Milli Eğitim Dergisi between 1990-2016 were dealt with. Data collected in the study were analyzed using content analysis method. As a result of the study, the problems that teachers face for the learning-teaching process have been categorized as "teachers, students and parents", "curriculum" and "unwanted behaviors". When these categories are examined, it is determined that the most frequently determined code is time inability. On the other hand, the most suggestive solution is the suggestions for lack of in-service training. Problems related to professional development were reached in four categories as "related units", "teachers", "tutors" and "time, space and equipment". When these categories are examined, it is determined that the most frequently determined code is the problems caused by the Ministry of National Education [MEB]. The most suggestive solution to the problems is the suggestions for the problems arising from the MEB. It is expected that this study will be a resource for teachers to work on the problems of the teaching-learning process, the problems of professional development and the economic problems in the future.
