With the teacher who works at national education and rehabilitation center and university students who study on mentally disabled people, the effects of sport, research the level of awareness

The aim of this study is to determine how sportive activities affect mental handicapped persons and how this effects makes an awareness in the socient totally 1400 persons (843 men and 557 women) consisting of those who work at public schools and rehabilition centers and students who study different departments at university. Awareness scale for the Effects of sports mental Handicappeds created by İlhan and Esentürk and demographical information with 12 guestions created by the researcher have been used as data collecting medium. For thhe collected data to be evaluated Microsoft Excel 2010 and SPSS packet program have been used. For analysis of demographical info of participants, descriptive ve statics have been used. Independent sample T Test with a=0,05 meaning level has been carried outin comparing of awareness level according to variations such as gender, age and doing sport level of participants. One Way Anova with a=0,05 has been carried out in comparing of awareness level of participants according to the schools they study and foundation they work. Tukey HSD has been carried out to determine differences among the data having been found out meaningfull and in which group these differences come out. After gathering findings from subjects there is no significant differences among subjects in gender, working places, working hours, again there is no significant differences about whether joining education symposioums or not, whether a disabled is in the family or not and distribution of teachers according to cities between kütahya and van where they live in (p<0,05). There is significant difference according to findings of activities organized for people with disabilities, whether income is spent in the way what is given for, whether paied attention to people with disabilities or not (p<0,05).
