Abstract (EN)
When conditions of cities are investigated it is observed that historical and traditional values are lost, similar buildings with no identity are dominant, and green areas are lost. Intead at green areas, low aesthetic level architectural buildings increased. When this negativeness especially in architectural and environmental conditions is notice, development of a system for a partly solution of this problem and to have high visual effect an aesthetic buildings with identity to improve architectural and environmental conditions is selected as thesis subject. It is well know that basic design with visual effect is taught the first level at architectural education. But, it is understood that there is a gap between practice and education, because of not teaching basic design at the high levels at architectural education. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to suggest a method at analysis according to basic design criteria and help to develop high visual quality environment. It is taught that this methodology is useful far from analysis and can be helpful for education. In this study, a method analysis with two dimensional matrix which includes basic design elements was developed and tested on a plot area. Result of this study showed that quantities such as scale-proportion, color, value etc. can be found. This methodology can also be used to identity which organisational elements such as harmony, contrast and hierarchy is effective. As a result, it may be said that this methology can be used in all environments likes traditional, historical and contemporary and design principles used for streets, cities and region etc. can be determined and may be offered to developers for new designs. This method can also be used in education to act as a bridge between practice and education and it can fill the gap in this area. Key Words: Basic Design, Gestalt Theory, Perception, Aesthetic
