Abstract (EN)

Architecture is a discipline formed through the interaction of multiple layers of knowledge. As information becomes outdated, changes, and is updated, architecture enters an evolutionary process. The new product that emerges always brings with it a sense of uncertainty and ambiguity. However, with the advancement of technological possibilities, many architectural structures are becoming standardized and losing their stimulating qualities. At this point, ambiguity plays a stimulating role in the field of architecture, positively influencing design and revealing potential possibilities. From the literature, it has been found that ambiguity has been used in other studies. However, there is no information available about how ambiguity occurs, in what context it is related to architecture, or how architects perceive ambiguity. This study was conducted with the aim of filling this gap and inspiring future architects. The study utilizes the method of concept analysis to achieve its objectives. Through concept analysis, the concept of ambiguity, including its overarching concepts, related contexts, and sub-concepts, is examined and tested against the works of architects associated with ambiguity in the analysis section. In this context, the study argues that ambiguity is a phenomenon used in architectural literature and that prominent architects employ the concept of ambiguity in their works.
