Abstract (EN)

The Mirsad Periodical began to be published on those days when Abdulhamid II 's policy of censoring heavily existed and had its publication ended by the order of the same censor. This paper intends to point out the place of the Mirsad Periodical within its despotic era when it both grew and got ended and also intends to identify and introduce the names gathering around the Periodical putting it into our daily letters. The introduction section of the paper includes general information abouth the press life of Abdulhamid II period introducing the major newspapers and periodicals. The section where the Mirsad Periodical described tries to cover the course and aim of its publication explaining the external structure and shape features of the Periodical along the 25 volumes. İt intoduces the authors with their available stories of life in addition to the names no information given abouth them. Also it covers all kinds and contents which took place in the Periodical. Analytical index, which takes place just before the section where the Mirsad contextuals; put into daily letters regardless of the scientificy parts, functions as a content section including all details abouth the contexts. The Mirsad Periodical carries such a character which the ruling power expects as the other peeriodicals do. This is to include certain kinds and to prefer certain contents and to keep away from politics consciously. The fact that its publication was put an end seems that it is opposite to the ruling power but actually never disagrees whit the government. The reason why its publication got stopped was that there was a terrible denunciation system during Abdulhamid II 's era which often went beyond its purpose. VII
