Abstract (EN)

The construction sector, which is responsible for a large part of global CO2 emissions, aims to increase the use of biocomposite building materials at the point of solving various environmental problems. Conducting research to improve the potential of use of these materials in the construction sector is important in the context of the life cycle and contributes to sustainable development due to its economic and ecological properties. Within the scope of this study, it was aimed to investigate the use of mycelium-based composite (MBC) materials, one of the biocomposite building materials, in the field of architecture, and 21 MBC projects produced in the last decade were analyzed in detail in the context of MBC production technique, MBC production flow, MBC connection technique, structural fiction and tools and equipment. As a result of the study, when the analysis study and findings carried out with the help of tables and visuals were evaluated; The production of MBCs with both traditional and innovative production methods and the establishment of connection systems, in the construction sector; Due to the potential of their use as building materials, building elements and structures, it has been seen that it is necessary and important to carry out academic research and R&D studies in the building sector with interdisciplinary studies.
