The effect of mobbing and psychological capital on individual creativity: A field research

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of mobbing and psychological capital on individual creativity. Within the scope of this study, firstly, the effect of mobbing on the general psychological capital and its sub-dimensions (self-efficacy, hope, optimism and resilience) was examined, and then the effect of the overall psychological capital and its sub- dimensions on individual creativity was examined. Finally, the effect of mobbing on individual creativity was examined. The study also provides recommendations based on the results. The survey form created to collect data was distributed to the participants in the research sample. The sample of the research consists of 800 people working in the private sector throughout Türkiye. Within the scope of the research, 397 valid surveys were analyzed and the participation rate in the research was 49.63 percent. The data obtained within the scope of the research were analyzed with SPSS 27 program. Descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analyzes were employed in the study. The results of the research showed that mobbing has a significant and negative effect on the general psychological capital and the hope and resilience dimensions, however, the study showed that mobbing has a significant and positive effect on individual creativity. The results are also revealed that the general psychological capital and the optimism, self-efficacy and resilience dimensions have a significant and positive effect on individual creativity. According to the results of the research, it was concluded that it is important for businesses to take the necessary precautions to prevent mobbing behaviors and to develop the psychological capital of employees. Another important conclusion is that developing the individual creativity of employees is important for the sustainability and profitability of businesses. In this context, it is recommended that to be aware of mobbing and take care of enhancing employees psychological capitals to businesses, managers and practitioners.
