Abstract (EN)
Commitment to sports is related to the individual's interest in sporting activities, their desire to continue these activities, and the extent to which they perceive sports as an indispensable part of their lives. Since a high level of commitment is considered to enable individuals to engage in sports consistently and voluntarily, this study aims to examine the level of sports commitment among administrative staff working at Munzur University. The population of the study consists of administrative staff employed at Munzur University, while the sample comprises 159 administrative personnel. A demographic information form and the Sports Commitment Scale were used to determine the personal characteristics of the participants. Based on the data obtained, a normality test was conducted, and since the data were found to be normally distributed, parametric tests such as the Independent Samples t-test and One-Way ANOVA were employed. The margin of error for the study was accepted as p<0.05. No statistically significant differences were found between sports commitment levels and sub-dimensions and the variables of gender, age, and years of service among Munzur University administrative personnel. However, statistically significant differences were identified in relation to workplace and active participation in sports. According to the findings, the arithmetic mean score obtained from the Sports Commitment Scale was 46.03, indicating that the individuals in the sample group generally exhibited a moderate level of sports commitment. The fact that this mean corresponds to approximately 66% of the maximum score suggests a noticeable interest in sports, though it does not reflect a high level of commitment across the entire sample.
