Murat Menteş as a novelist

Murat Menteş is a writer who has recently gained an important place in Contemporary Turkish Literature, his books are widely read by those knowing him and covers of his books immediately arouse interest among those who come up his books for the first time. This thesis consisting of introduction and six main chapters aims at inspiring future research as it is one of the first studies focusing on his works. The limits of the study are determined by three novels of the author. Murat Menteş has written seven books so far; two of these books are poetry and the other two books are essay collections. This study consists of and introduction, six main chapters, conclusion, bibliography and an interview. In the first chapter a theoretical framework of the research was formed. In the second chapter, the biography, literary identity and Works of the author was introduced. In the third chapter, by analysing the structure of his Works thoroughly an idea on the novel style of the writer was investigated. In the fourth chapter, the themes shaping Murat Menteş's novels were surveyed and in the fifth chapter it was focused on the postmodern elements of his novels. In the sixth chapter, the language in his novels were analysed. In the appendix, the interview conducted with the writer was presented. At the end of the study an interview with the writer was presented in which he talks about his style, first writings, poetry books and novels.
