Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY Isolation and Molecular Characterisation of Bacteria in Muş- Çukurbağ's Gas Saturated Ground Water In this study, bacteria isolation were carried out from Mus-Cukurbag's gas saturated ground water, and then, species of isolates were tried to be determined. Meanwhile, the number of bacteria in the samples from water was determined. The number of bacteria in the water samples was defined by the membrane filtration method. In addition, the samples obtained by filtration and the enrichment cultures from the gas saturated ground water were grown on nutrient agar medium and the colonies were examined under stereo microscope. Five different isolates were subjected to the further tests. Morphological, physiological, biochemical, some genetically and chemotaxonomical features of the isolates were examined. As conclusion, the number of bacteria in the gas saturated ground water was found as 124 bacteria/ml. According to the properties of isolates, they are placed into genus Bacillus, Bordetella and Providencia. Key Words: Gas Saturated Ground Water, Bacillus sp., Bordetella sp., Providencia sp. VII
