Educational Messages in the Works of Mustafa Ruhi Şirin Children's literature is an important literary field that enables the children to think more systematically, aims at cultural accumulation, contains the riches of literary language and opens the doors of the children full of excitement. Having an important place among children's literature products poetry and fairy tale's one of the main aim is to gain the necessary educational messages for the literary reader, which leads children from a simple age to a difficult period more than the thought of reading and being reader. The poems, which give the rich messages of literary language to the children, have an important place in children's literature. Fairy tales that provide a wide range of imaginative possibilities and which are suitable for symbolic narrative also have an important place in children's literature. In this respect, Mustafa Ruhi Şirin was one of the important author for the children by sustaining rich, enjoyable and educational content. The aim of this study is to examine children's poetry and fairy tale in terms of Mustafa Ruhi Şirin's works. In this study, poetry books and tales written by Mustafa Ruhi Şirin were discussed in terms of "educational messages" that the children will gain through his works. In this descriptive study, the data were collected through document analysis. Mustafa Ruhi Şirin's 2 fairy tales and 5 children's poetry books were examined. As a result of this study, educational messages were determined and interpreted in children's poems and tales of Mustafa Ruhi Şirin. The works were found "rich" in terms of educational messages such as imagination and imagination, love of nature, love of animals, protection of animals, and benevolence in terms of educational messages. It was concluded that through poems and tales Şirin has encouraged children to think, question, wonder, make connections between events and make inferences by reason and effect and by this way the children reach the messages by themselves.
