Abstract (EN)
This thesis addresses poverty in Muzaffer İzgü's works not only as an economic issue but also as a phenomenon that affects the social, psychological, and cultural existence of individuals. The thesis aims to understand İzgü's approach to poverty themes and to analyze the psychological, social, and economic impacts of poverty on novel characters. The introduction of the thesis provides an overview of Muzaffer İzgü's biographical features, literary personality, and his approach to poverty themes. The second section examines the relationship between Muzaffer İzgü and socialist realist literature from the perspective of poverty, focusing on how literature can be used as a tool for social criticism. The third section offers a detailed analysis of the poverty themes in İzgü's various novels. The character analyses in this section aim to reveal the inner worlds of those struggling with poverty and how they cope with the social conditions of the period. The conclusion serves as a summary of the analyses conducted. This thesis aims to serve as a resource for readers who wish to understand the themes of poverty in Muzaffer İzgü's works and evaluate the author's use of these themes as a means of social criticism.
