Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is observed whether the personality characteristics of Art, Music and Primary School Teaching students differ according to the programmes and the classes they study in. The main purpose of this research is to compare and contrast the personality characteristics of Art, Music and Primary School Teaching Programme students.The study was carried out with 370 students in the Karadeniz Technical University Fatih Faculty Education Department of Fine Art Art and Music Teaching Programme and Primary School Teaching Primary School Teaching Programme. Adjective Based Personality Test (ABPT) described by Bacanli and the others (2009) was used in this study. ANOVA was used to compare differences and Tukey test was used to compare averages.After comparing Five Factors (Emotional Instability/Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness to Experiences, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness), Openness to experiences found to be important difference among students of different education types in Art School. The students in the Primary School Teaching were more eager to Openness to Experiences than Art students. In comparison of classes in each department, significant differences among classes students of Music Teachership were obtained.
