Abstract (EN)
Nafilah acts of worship are voluntary acts of worship performed by individuals, outside of obligatory and wajib acts of worship, to earn God's approval and join His friends. The importance of these acts of worship is particularly prominent in Sufi approaches. The primary goal of Sufis is to gain God's approval, and the most important factor in achieving this is the emphasis placed on nafilah acts of worship alongside obligatory acts of worship. Therefore, the Sufi tradition places a significant emphasis on nafilah acts of worship. In this context, this study aims to examine the importance of nafilah acts of worship and training in seyr u suluk in an individual's spiritual development and the role of these processes in education. Nafilah acts of worship are voluntary acts of worship that fall outside of obligatory acts of worship, but allow an individual to draw closer to God. Seyr u suluk, on the other hand, is a Sufi journey under the guidance of a spiritual guide and represents an individual's spiritual maturation process. This study explores how voluntary worship is used as a tool in the practice of seyr u suluk (spiritual journeying) and what transformative role it plays in the spiritual education of an individual. It emphasizes, in particular, that voluntary worship plays a significant role in achieving an individual's inner peace, spiritual purification, and moral development. Furthermore, the process of seyr u suluk plays a crucial role in educating an individual's heart and soul, instilling spiritual values such as patience, contemplation, and submission. Within this framework, this study analyzes the relationship between voluntary worship and seyr u suluk and aims to reveal the educational role of these two fundamental elements in Sufi education. Furthermore, this study examines the place and importance of voluntary worship, a path to drawing closer to God, in the lives of our Prophet (peace be upon him), his companions, and subsequent generations.
