A thematic examination on Naime Erkovan's stories

Naime Erkovan is a woman writer who writes her stories with fantastic fictions after 2000. Although he uses a simple style as language and expression in his works, it is seen that he builds event transitions on many imaginary and conceptual phenomena belonging to eastern and western civilizations. In this respect, it is a correct assessment to state that the reader can only have a better command of the plots of the stories with a certain intellectual background. In his stories, the imagination of a child predominantly affects the narrator. Time passes are quite fast in plots. Sometimes, while the heroes and plots are handled in the modern life processes, the mythological elements and events that lived in very old times suddenly become intricate. I. or III. There are heroes shaped around a singular person narrator. Apart from these, mythological, legendary, folkloric and symbolic character typologies are seen. Thematically, it is noteworthy that the western events and phenomena, which are tried to be reinterpreted with the main arguments of the eastern civilization, the dominance of expatriateness, fantastic elements, childhood and loneliness in the works. In the light of all this information, in the first part of this study, detailed analyzes were made about the life, literary personality and works of Naime Erkovan. In the following sections, the stories were examined through thematic classification and one-to-one decipherings to support the subject were given. An interview with the author is included in addition to the conclusion section, where the subject is summarized in general and the evaluations are made.
