Abstract (EN)
In order to find out how the activities of publishing magazine or periodical have started in Turkey particulary in Anatolia before Meşrutiyet (1908); When and in Which city of Anatolia the first periodical has been published, the study began to work on the journal of Nilüfer (1887-1891). The study consists of a foreword; an introduction including the first Turkish journals, the publishing activites in the provinces and Nilüfer, Feraizcizade Mehmet Şâkir; indext and some selected texts written in new Turkish alphabet; conclusions and references. In the intrduction part, it has been dealt with the first Turkish journals which had an impact on Turkish literature. Besides this Nilüfer has been examined with its counter parts published in the provinces out side Istanbul between 1887 and 1891. Also, the life of Feraizcizade Mehmet Şâkir who was the owner of Nilüfer took place in the introduction part with his writings effected on Turkish literature particulary on the first Turkish theater. This study has shown that the provinces out side Istanbul made substantial enterprise on the activities of publishing magazine or periodical, Such as Izmir and Bursa supported Istanbul for innovations proposed by Tanzimat. The first Journal Nevruz had been published in Izmir. This indicates culturel developments in Izmir. But Nevruz continmed in a short period of time. No any journal had been published after Nevruz in Izmir. At the same time in Bursa, there were two journals continuld long time couparing, Nevruz. For example, Nilüfer (1887-1891) and Fevaid (1888-1896). In this perspective it can be said that bursa was more advanced than Izmar in that case. rxNilüfer had a large editional board (82 authers) and while some of them were from Istanbul magority of them were from provinces. Nilüfer was not an extremist journal, it had a moderate religious perspective and tried to compromise with the policies of Abdulhamid II. As a first journal of Bursa, Nilüfer was one of two journals publishing in Anatolia at that time. It continued between (1887 and 1891) and had large scale of readr.
