Abstract (EN)
Nuhbetü't-Tevarih ve'l-Ahbar was written by Mehmed b. Mehmed Rumî (Edirnevî) between 1617-1640. Edirnevî is one of the Ottoman authors of the 17th century and at the same time he worked as a clerk in the Divan-ı Hümayun. In the work, the history of Islam is discussed from the birth of Islam to 1617. The work has been prepared in two volumes. The first volume of the work includes the genealogies of Muslim khanates and states from the birth of Islam to the Ottoman period; The second volume deals with the history of the Ottoman state from its foundation to the death of Sultan Ahmed I (1617). The author dealt with the subjects with a certain method by making use of various main sources of Persian and Arabic of the period. The first volume of Nuhbetü't-Tevarih ve'l-Ahbar has been explained both in a concise (short, abstract) and detailed manner. The genealogy of the states and khanates that ruled in Egypt, Damascus and Asia Minor, which is the subject of our study, is written concisely. The names of the rulers of the respective states or khanates were tabulated in genealogy. Introductory information is given next to the names of the dynasty member. The region of dominance of the people, the struggles for the reign, the reigns and the dates of death are indicated. In this study; brief information is given about the author of the work named Nuhbetü't-Tevarih ve'l-Ahbar. In addition, transcription evaluation of the genealogies of the states and khanates that ruled in Egypt, Damascus and Asia Minor were made.
