The relationship between the instructors' organizational justice perceptions and their hopelessness levels

The aim of this research was to put forth the relationship between the instructors' organizational justice perceptions and their hopelessness levels and to analyze them in terms of various variables. The population of this research, designed in correlational screening model, was composed of the instructors' working for Adnan Menderes University in Aydın city in 2015-2016 academic year and the sample was composed of 468 instructors selected via cluster sampling method. Data was collected by means of Personal Information Form, Organizational Justice Scale and Beck Hopelessness Scale. In data analysis, frequency, percentage, mean score and standard deviation were used together with t-test and ANOVA. The significance level was .05. According to the findings of the research, organizational justice perceptions and hopelessness levels of the instructors were at medium level. While organizational justice perceptions of the instructors differed significantly in terms of seniority, academic title, educational status and administration duty variables, their perceptions did not differ significantly in terms of gender and age variables. Likewise, while hopelessness levels of the instructors differed significantly in terms of academic title and age variables, their hopelessness levels did not differ significantly in terms of gender, seniority, educational status and administration duty variables. A negative significant relationship was detected between the instructors' organizational justice perceptions and their hopelessness levels, and the only predictor of the factors of hopelessness scale was distributive justice dimension of organizational justice scale.
