The impact of visionary leadership behaviors on employees' perceptions of corporate identity

Today, the success of organizations depends on well-formed, shared and adopted visions. A vision is more of a persuasion contract that involves imagining, creating, and acting in line with values and beliefs.Vision is a contract that creates enthusiasm and commitment in employees. Thanks to the school vision they developed, school administrators create commitment, energy and enthusiasm in teachers.In addition, the aspect of the visionary leader that is open to communication, activates the team spirit, and instills a sense of trust in his subordinates will bring professional and organizational commitment. Employees who adopt and believe in the vision of the organization try to realize this vision with vitality, passionate, enthusiasm and dedication. In this context, today's school principals need to be visionary leaders. In this way, professional commitment and professional vitality will increase in school employees and success will be achieved.In the literature review, no research was found in which these three variables were examined together, and it was thought that examining the relationship and interaction between these very important concepts would contribute to filling this gap in the literature. In this study, it was aimed to examine whether there is a relationship between school principals' visionary leadership perceptions and teachers' professional commitment levels according to teachers' opinions, and if there is a mediating role of professional vitality in this relationship.With the questionnaire prepared in this direction, data were collected from 171 teachers working in Tunceli by online questionnaire method and analyzed with SPSS 24.0 statistics program. The results of the research show that teachers evaluate school administrators as a "visionary leader". Likewise, it is understood that their commitment to the profession and their professional vitality are high. In addition, it was observed that the professional commitment and professional vitality levels of female teachers were higher than male teachers.It has been determined that there is a weak and positive relationship between teachers' professional commitment and visionary leadership perceptions. It has been concluded that the mediating effect of teachers' professional vitality level and visionary leadership perceptions on their professional commitment levels is moderate. At the end of the study, the attention of school administrators and lawmakers was drawn to this issue and some suggestions were presented for a higher quality education system.
