The relation between teacher- student interaction and student resilince

The purpose of this research is to explore the correlation between teacher-student interaction and student resilience. The research consists of two studies. The first study aims to adapt the Student Version of the Teacher-Student Relationship Inventory (S-TSRI) to Turkish culture. Data were gathered from 871 students for the adaptation study. The findings of the confirmatory factor analysis indicate that S-TSRI exhibits excellent fit results. The scale is composed of three dimensions, and high Cronbach's Alpha values were obtained. The results of criterion-related validity and test-retest reliability support the scale's validity and reliability as a measuring tool. The analyses suggest that S-TSRI is a valid and reliable measuring instrument that can be used in Turkish culture. The second study aims to explore the relationship between teacher-student interaction and student resilience. Data were collected from 962 8th-grade middle school students who were continuing their education in the central districts of Diyarbakır province. The study utilized three data collection tools: the Personal Information Form (PIF), the Student Version of the Teacher-Student Relationship Inventory (S-TSRI), and the Child and Youth Resilience Measure (CYRM-12). Statistical tests such as independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson correlation coefficient were conducted to analyze the relationship between variables and demographic characteristics. The results of the research suggest that resilience levels are significantly different based on birth order, while satisfaction scores vary significantly based on gender and involvement in art/sports. Instrumental help scores show a significant difference based on gender. Conflict scores exhibit a significant difference based on gender and involvement in art/sports. A moderately positive and significant relationship was found between resilience and satisfaction. Also, there is a significant and positive correlation between resilience and instrumental help at a lower level. Furthermore, a modest, yet significant and adverse correlation was found between resilience and the conflict dimension
