The research was conducted with 460 teachers working in public schools in Adıyaman city center in the 2023-2024 academic year. This study is a quantitative research with a descriptive research design. The Ohio Teacher Competency Scale, developed by Tschannen-Moren and Woolfolk-Hoy (2001) and adapted into Turkish by Baloğlu and Karadağ (2008), was used in the study. The scale consists of 24 items and five lower dimension. Lower dimensions consist of guidance, behavior management, motivation, teaching skills and measurement-evaluation. In addition, a personal information form was applied in the research and the socio-demographic information of the participants was tried to be learned. In this research, SPSS 26 package program was used to analyze the data obtained. In the analysis of the data, frequency distribution, Cronbach's Alpha coefficient, normality test, descriptive statistics, Independent Sample t-test and One-Way Analysis of Variance were used for reliability analysis. In this context, frequency distribution was used to determine the personal characteristics participants in the research. This analysis reveals the number of participants and their percentages for the variables gender, marital status, educational status, age, professional seniority and educational institution level. The results obtained in the research revealed that teachers generally felt competent while performing their professional duties and their perception of competence was high. Besides, it was concluded that teachers felt competent in all sub-dimensions. According to the study data, no significant difference was observed according to gender variable, education level variable and educational institution level variable. In the results obtained in the study, it was determined that there were significant differences in teachers' competence perceptions according to marital status variable, age variable, seniority variable and branch variable.
