Abstract (EN)

A simple microwave-assisted synthesis of oxygen and nitrogen co-doped carbon dots (O-N-CDs) was carried out with citric acid as a carbon source and 2,4-diamino-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazine as a nitrogen source in triethylene glycol media. It was determined by SEM analysis that O-N-CDs consisted of particles of different sizes and shapes. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyzes confirmed that O-N-CDs have graphitic structure. Moreover, they showed the fluorescence emission based on the excitation wavelength. Therefore, a new fluorimetric method was developed for the determination of banned food dye Sudan II by using the O-N-CDs. The accuracy of the proposed method was verified with spike-recovery experiments in the spiked spice samples. The detection limit and linear range of the method with acceptable recovery values were 0.6 and 0-8 mg/L, respectively.
