Production of copper from oxidized copper ores

In this work, leaching kinetics of malachite (CuCO3.Cu(OH)2) mineral in aceticacid solutions have been investigated. In the leaching experiments, the acetic acidconcentration, the particle size, the stirring speed, the solid to liquid ratio and reactiontemperature have been chosen as variable parameters. It was observed that the leachingrate increased with decrease in particle size, solid to liquid ratio, and with increase inthe reaction temperature, the acetic acid concentration, and the stirring speed.
