Abstract (EN)

Preschool education can be considered as the first step of the child's to education life. Therefore, solid steps taken during this period are extremly determinative for the next education-teaching life of the child. Art and skill trainings given in the period of pre-school education are also exteremly important parts of this process. It is aimed to give preschool children cognitive, social, psychomotor, linguistic and affective skills by means of music training which is a part of the art and skill educations. The importance of music activities in the development of these skill areas is supported positively by both scientific and our educators' data and opinions. The main aim of our research on music education of preschool period children is to investigate and offer suggestions what is the scope of art and music education and preschool period education, how healthy this process works, the qualification levels of our educators, what can be gained to child through music education. Our research consists of six parts. In the first four chapters of our study, the coverage of the preschool education, the art education, the music education and the preschool music training were examined respectively by carrying out literature review. In the fifth chapter, the methods and techniques used in the research were determined and in the last (six) chapter of our study, our preschool educators' views about music lesson were analysed using questionnaire technique. The results of our study show that the music education has very possitive effect on children. It is also seen in our research findings that the music education which plays a big role in the development of children has to be supported both our educators and schools more robustly in terms of the educational qualifications. In order to make the higher education levels more qualified, the art and skill activities which are randomly made in the pre-school period should be replaced by conscious, equipped, theoretical and more qualified works. It should be fully ensured that children benefit from activities such as music or art that are extremely important for their developmental period
