Abstract (EN)

Considering that school buildings and school gardens are the places where children spend the most time in today's cities, kindergarten gardens and games played in the garden are very important for physical and mental health. The aim of this study is to determine the current situation of the use of open green space in private and public kindergartens and kindergartens in Istanbul Tuzla district, to determine the materials used in kindergarten gardens, and to determine whether the use of open green space contributes to the physical, mental and mental development of preschool children. The study group of the study is to determine the degree of achievement of this quality in a total of 20 Kindergartens, including 19 kindergartens and 1 kindergarten, selected by simple random sampling method, which are the two neighborhoods with the highest population (Post Office and Station Mh), which have different socio-economical segments in Tuzla. . To achieve this goal, an observation table consisting of 30 criteria has been created for the opportunity to use the school garden. It was checked whether the chosen schoolyard meets these criteria and was scored. The result of the scoring was determined that all school gardens are in the middle and upper level representative groups. As a result, suggestions have been made for the more effective use and development of the best outdoor use for children possible in kindergartens.
