Abstract (EN)

Aim of this study is to present the link between teacher children relationship and children's social skills. Correlational descriptive study model was preferred fort this study. Sample of the study was 445 children whose ages differ between 48-72 months and attended preschools in Melikgazi, Talas and Kocasinan districts in Kayseri. Personal Information Form, Student Teacher Relationship Scale and Preschool Social Skills Assessment Scale were used as data collection tools. The data was analyzed by running nonparametric tests and calculating spearman correlation coefficient. It was determined that children had high closeness, medium dependency and low conflict in their relationship with teachers. The relationship scores were significantly differed according to teachers education level, Professional experience, social skills pd course attendance, the program they graduated from and teaching status. Children's social skills were in high level in all subdomains and total of the scale. Social skills scores were significantly differed according to children's age, gender, order of birth and mother's education level. Father's education level and number of siblings didn't make a significant effect on children's social skills scores. Lastly, it was presented that there were significant relationships between teacher child relationship and children social skills scores. Suggestions were presented according to the study results.
