Investigation of the relationship between self-efficacy sources and achievement goal orientations of pre-school teacher candidates

The teaching profession is a grueling field that has many difficulties and can touch the souls of the students. It is important in which self-efficacy area the teacher candidate is more dominant and which success goal orientation he prefers in his education life. Therefore, in this study, teacher candidates' self-efficacy sources and achievement goal orientations were examined. In this context, self-efficacy resources scale and achievement goal orientation scale were used. In this study, data were collected from 388 pre-school teacher candidates. The main purpose of this research is to determine the self-efficacy sources and achievement goal orientations of preschool teacher candidates, to look at the relationship between self-efficacy sources and achievement goal orientations, to look at the effect of self-efficacy sources on achievement goal orientations, to examine in terms of gender and grade level variables. When the results were examined, it was found that both self-efficacy sources and achievement goal orientations did not differ significantly in terms of gender, but showed a significant difference in terms of grade level. When the relationship between self-efficacy resources and achievement goal orientation was examined, it was found to be positive. When the effect of self-efficacy resources on achievement goal orientation was examined, it was found that there was a significant difference.
