Relationship between communication skills of school principles and professional motivation status of physical education teachers

The aim of this study is to understand the relationship between the communication skills of school administrators and the professional motivation of physical education teachers, and to reveal the impact of this relationship on the educational system. This study employed a quantitative research method and was conducted in Antalya. The research utilized a communication skills scale and a professional motivation scale. According to the results, there are significant differences in professional motivation across age groups; participants in the 30-40 age group scored the highest, while those aged 61 and above scored the lowest. However, there was no significant difference in communication skills among age groups. Gender did not have a significant effect on either professional motivation or communication skills, indicating that gender does not have a notable impact on these variables. Significant differences were observed in professional motivation scores based on years of service; those with 1-10 years of service had the highest motivation scores, while those with 21-30 years of service had the lowest. Although the effect of marital status on professional motivation was not statistically significant, the number of physical education teachers had a significant impact on both professional motivation and communication skills; as the number of teachers increased, both motivation and communication skills scores improved. Finally, the gender of the school principal did not have a significant effect on either professional motivation or communication skills, while the length of service in the school had an impact on motivation but not on communication skills.
