Abstract (EN)

Just like every institution has an administrator, the administrators of the schools are the school principals. In school management, there are assistant principals as well as school principals. School administrators are the persons responsible for managing the educational activities in accordance with the objectives they have determined in their schools, in line with the objectives determined by the Ministry of National Education. Today, due to the changes in management, leadership and technology, the workload and responsibility areas of school administrators have increased more. For this reason, school administrators are expected to improve themselves in every aspect. School administrators have many administrative duties and responsibilities, as well as instructional responsibilities such as attending classes related to their branch. Due to the intensity of their managerial work, it is not possible to reach the expected educational goals and student success. At the same time, the obligation to attend classes sometimes hinders their administrative work. The task given to the managers in two different areas negatively affects the functioning in both areas. The purpose of this research is to determine the perceptions and suggestions of school administrators and students regarding the fulfillment of compulsory course obligations in the process of performing their administrative duties. The research was designed with the qualitative research method. The study group consists of 15 school administrators and 18 students in the Serik district of Antalya province. A semi-structured interview form was used as the data collection tool of the research. In the research, open-ended questions were asked about the perceptions of the administrators and students regarding the fulfillment of compulsory course obligations in the process of performing the administrative duties of the administrators (branch teachers) in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis method. The answers given by the participants to the sub-problems were divided into sub-categories and coded and themes were revealed. In the interpretation of the findings, the answers given by the participants in the interview were used without changing the sentences. As a result of the research, it was stated that the administrative workloads and responsibilities of the school administrators, both defined by the regulation and arising according to the needs of the school, are high, so that the school administrators could not carry out the lessons and it was difficult to make up for the disrupted lessons. At the same time, it was concluded that the administrative work was disrupted when she entered the course, so the work accumulated and the accumulated work created a problem in terms of time management and workload.
