Abstract (EN)
Aim: To analysis the relationship between central corneal thickness, optic nerve head and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness in patients with ocular hypertension.Material and Methods: Retrospective, comparative, study of 150 patients with ocular hypertension and 150 control patients. All patients included for age, gender, family history of glaucoma, systemic disease, drugs. All patients underwent complete ophthalmological examination, optical cohorens tomography, Heidelberg retina tomography, Pachymetry and visual field tests were performed duration of follow-up. SPSS package system was used for the evaluation of the obtained data. P value less than 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. Results: Overall, 212 eyes of 106 female patients, 88 eyes of 44 male patients, a total of 300 eyes with ocular hypertension were included in the study. The mean age was 39.95±13.87 years for women, 36.13±7.41 years for men. Total 174 eyes of 87 female and 63 male patients were included in the study as a control group, mean age was 31.47±4.82 years for women and 30.00±5.83 years for men. In both groups, a statistically significant difference was found between the ages of men and women. Mean intraocular pressure values in group 1 were significantly higher than group 2. In Group 1 according to sex discrimination in terms of mean intraocular pressure values were not statistically different. In terms of the average central corneal thickness values in group 1 were significantly higher than group 2. In Group 1 according to gender discrimination in the average central corneal thickness values were significantly higher in female patients than male patients. The vision field between the two groups showed no significant difference in the mean Mean Deviation and Patern Standart Deviation values. Average optic nerve head nerve fiber layer thickness values in group 1 were statistically significantly lower than group 2.Patients in Group 1 divided with and without a family history of glaucoma. Between these two groups and the control group there was no sinificant difference in the Mean Deviation and Patern Standart Deviation values. There was a statistically significant difference in the fundus examination of the c / d ratio, central corneal thickness, OCT average thickness and intraocular pressure between the two subgroups and control group.Discussion: Glaucoma, ocular hypertension and normal tension glaucoma patients with the diagnosis of OHT necessarily be considered, otherwise the patient can be misdiagnosed, and as a result, missing or unnecessary treatments can be applied. According to the results of many studies and our study the spectral OCT can be used to detect early glaucomatous damage in an effective and reliable method.
