Crisis management in safety-related situations in schools

In this research, the crisis management of the school administration in security-related situations in schools was examined. In the research, nested single case study design, one of the qualitative analysis methods, was used. In this study, the data were obtained by using the interview form. In the research, an interview form with 10 questions prepared by the researcher was used as a data collection tool. Content analysis, one of the qualitative analysis methods, was used in the analysis of the research data. According to the data obtained, the security guard is in the first place regarding the practices against the dangers that may arise from the environment in which the school is located. Earthquake, fire etc. 13 participants about the measures taken against the events earthquake, fire, etc. He stated that the drills were conducted against the events. Regarding the environment where students and teachers can share their thoughts on school safety, it is seen that the majority of the participants stated that it is such an environment. The issues of holding seminars and information meetings regarding the MoNE's recommendations on safe schools and appointing security guards came to the fore among the suggestions. According to the data obtained about the problems encountered by the participants about school security, it is seen that the biggest problem is the absence of security personnel. It was observed that the participants did not have a plan determined according to the data obtained regarding the intervention plans at the time of crisis. It was determined that general education/information was provided according to the data obtained regarding the studies on the prevention of harmful habits at school. According to the data obtained regarding the practices carried out to prevent alcohol, cigarette and drug addiction, it has been determined that the majority of them inform/teach about the harms of substance addiction. According to the data obtained regarding the arrangements made in the physical conditions of the school in order to ensure the safety of the students, there are no dangerous areas such as sharp, sharp, slippery floors, etc. It has been reported that such situations are being tried to be corrected. According to the participants, according to the data obtained about what needs to be done to ensure security in schools, the most common opinion about ensuring security is to employ security guards.
