Effect of teaching environment in schools on student satisfaction in high schools

This research is prepared to determine factors that increase student motivation and teaching efficiency by analyzing effect of teaching environment on student satisfaction and guide educators about these factors. In this research, it is aimed to determine whether there is a meaningful relationship between perceived teaching environment and student satisfaction in high schools. It is searched statistically whether effect of teaching environment on student satisfaction differs according to students' gender, type of high school, father's education level, mother's education level, and father's business and profession. In the study, literature review is carried out before proceeding fieldwork. Additionally, a Likert-type questionnaire is administered to student to depict student satisfaction. The questionnaire is applied 311 students who are selected through random sampling in Şişli district in İstanbul. Questionnaires that have errors and incomplete information are not evaluated. Questionnaires are evaluated by SPSS programme. According to results; effect of teaching environment on student satisfaction differs according to the students' gender, type of high school, father's education level, mother's education level, and father's business and profession. The most remarkable finding is that level of satisfaction in private schools is significantly high than public schools.
