Abstract (EN)
This study presents a comprehensive and systematic evaluation of the psychological resilience levels of nurses working in oncology clinics, alongside the socio-demographic variables that may influence resilience. A total of 117 oncology nurses employed a private hospital were included in the study after obtaining necessary permissions and informed consent forms. Data were collected using a "Demographic Information Form" developed by the researcher and the Turkish version of the Resilience Scale for Adults (RSFA-TR), whose reliability and validity were previously established by Basım and Çetin (2011). Statistical analyses were conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0. The socio-demographic variables of the participants were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. To assess whether there were statistically significant differences between groups, the Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal-Wallis Test were employed. The findings revealed that the oncology nurses' psychological resilience levels were above average. Higher levels of resilience were observed among female nurses, those of older age, with higher educational attainment, and those who had longer experience working in oncology clinics. Although differences according to job position were not statistically significant, charge nurses generally exhibited higher resilience levels. No significant effect of marital status on resilience was identified. The results of this study suggest that enhancing psychological resilience among oncology nurses requires the implementation of psychological support programs, stress management training, and the provision of appropriate working conditions. Additionally, developing strategies tailored to individual needs-through administrative support and motivational practices-can play a critical role in promoting professional development and guidance in clinical nursing practice.
