Abstract (EN)
In this study, the relationship between online game addicts' being online gamble addicts with anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder was examined. The study was conducted with 206 male volunteers between the ages of 18-45 who play online games. In the study, Personal Information Form which is prepared by the researcher; to detect addiction to online gaming Digital Game Addiction Scale for University Students (Hazar E and Hazar Z, 2019); to detect addiction of gambling South Oaks Gamble Scanning Test (Duvarcı & Varan, 2001); to detect the level of anxiety Beck Anxiety Scale (Ulusoy M, Şahin N, Erkmen H, 1998); to detect the level of depression Beck Depression Scale (Beck AT, Ward CH, Mendelson M, Mock J, Erbaugh J, 1961); to detect the level of post-traumatic stress disorder Kocaeli Mental Trauma Short Scanning Scale (Aker et al., 2007) were used. As a result of the normal distribution of data, for the relevance of the difference between two groups' average, unpaired t-test, for the relevance of the difference between more than two groups' average, one-way analysis of variance (Anova) and multiple regression analysis were used. In the study, a meaningful positive relationship between online game addiction, online gambling addiction, anxiety, and depression was found. There is a meaningful negative relationship between online game addiction and post-traumatic stress disorder. With the study, it is aimed to contribute to the literature in terms of the clinical substructure of the transition from online games to playing gamble with real money by taking attention to the relationship between the online game and online gambling addictions.
