Abstract (EN)

Objective: To evaluate the role of ultrasound markers of endometrial receptivity in predicting the outcome of in intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles. Design: This prospective observational study was conducted at Akdeniz University Medical Faculty IVF unit. 122 consecutive patients whose stimulation cycle resulted in embryo transfer were included in the study. Materials and Methods: Clinical pregnancy occurred in 20 patients, biochemical pregnancy occurred in 9 patients whereas 93 women could not conceive. Demographic and cycle characteristics, sonographic markers of endometrial receptivity (uterine artery [UA] doppler pulsatility [PI] and resistance indices [RI], endometrial thickness and pattern) on oocyte pickup (OPU) and embryo transfer (ET) day were compared between women who conceived clinically, biochemically and did not conceive. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between patient demographics such as age, body mass index, cycle characteristics and quality and number of transferred embryos between conception cycles and non-conception cycles. Endometrial pattern, thickness and UA doppler PI on OPU and ET day, and UA RI on ET day, did not differ between the groups. UA doppler RI was significantly lower on OPU day in women who conceived. Conclusions: Uterine artery doppler examination measurement on OPU day may successfully identify patients who would conceive with ICSI treatment
